We have played over 100 concerts together

Encounters that go beyond music to touch the essential.

So that, in the end, we can experience a single encounter.

Our story

Witnessing the invisible

Like many others, we wanted to pass on the treasure of the faith, in our humble way.

Tanguy Dionis du Séjour founded the Dei Amoris Cantores (DAC) group in 2011, with the participation of Fr Gaétan Bonnasse (csj) and Martin Szersnovicz.

The choir will comprise up to 25 singers, directed by Tanguy and Martin.

The works are all new, composed mainly by Tanguy, Martin and Fr Gaétan.

A new reference

Our ambition was to be attentive servants, striving to respect the principles of the Magisterium as closely as possible.

It was a demanding challenge, where the joy of working for beauty was mixed with the frustration of a Beauty that was always beyond our reach.

More than a new musical reference, it is a spirit of filiation with the ancient treasures of the Church that we wish to transmit ; a spirit of liturgy that “frees us from ordinary action and restores depth and height, silence and song” (B. XVI).

Tomorrow ?

With 3 albums and 55 pieces, DAC have made their modest contribution to an immense edifice.

After 6 years of an exceptional adventure, the Parisian students and young professionals have moved on to other vocational horizons.

But the furrow remains. It continues to bear fruit, more silently, in other forms. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll hear these now-familiar voices singing again, in new creations.

THE SHOP

Sales of DAC products are now managed in the shadow of the Abbey of Le Barroux.

Don’t hesitate to visit them.

"Man carries within himself the depth of the sea, the burden of the earth and the heights of heaven. That is why he is also silence, cry and song."

– Benoît XVI

"Ah, General, there is only one problem in the world. Give men back spiritual meaning, spiritual concerns. To rain down upon them something like a Gregorian chant."

– Antoine de Saint Exupéry

"Liturgical music must be humble; its purpose is not to be applauded, but to edify."

– Saint Thomas

"All great sacred music necessarily presupposes profound respect, a readiness to receive, a humility ready to serve in participation in what is already great. He who, at least fundamentally, allows himself to be carried along by the inner texture of this vision of man, who lives by it, will be able to create the music that corresponds to it."

– Benoît XVI

"A church composition is all the more sacred and liturgical the closer it approaches Gregorian melody from the point of view of rhythm, inspiration and taste; but the further it is perceived to be from the forms of this supreme model, the less worthy it is of the temple" (Saint Pius X). It is not, of course, a question of copying Gregorian chant, but rather of ensuring that new compositions are imbued with the same spirit that gave rise to, and gradually shaped, this chant.

– Saint Jean-Paul II
